Police have opened an inquest following the death of one male and two children who perished in a fire that gutted the home during the early hours of Sunday, 02 November 2025.
It is alleged that at approximately 02:20, SAPS Despatch responded to a complaint of a house fire in Banto Holomisa Street, Khayamnandi, Despatch.
On their arrival, the house was already completely burned down.
After the blaze was doused, the bodies of one male (29) and two children, 4 and 6, were found. The names of the deceased will be released on completion of a formal identification process.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
