Knysna police confiscated drugs estimated at R90 000 during a mid-week crime combatting operation.

On Wednesday, 13 August 2025 at about 20:15 Knysna Crime Prevention Unit members operationalised information when they raided a container operating as a barber shop. Upon arrival they searched the premises and found 65 bankies of dagga.

Further investigation into the discovery took the police to a house at Hlalani, adjacent to Nekkies, where a black bag stashed with dagga was found leading to the total confiscation of just over 11 kilogram of dagga. The police arrested a 24-year-old woman and two men aged 26 and 29 respectively on charges of dealing in drugs.

In an unrelated incident, on Tuesday, 12 August 2025 at about 18:20 Da Gamaskop police received information of a vehicle which is transporting copper cables. The members operationalised the information and spotted the vehicle near a scrapyard at Sampson Street, Mossel Bay. They stopped the vehicle and upon searching found the cables at the back of the vehicle. The members confiscated copper cables valued at about R20 000 and the arrest of a 51-year-old man on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

Furthermore, Laingsburg police members patrolled along Second Street, Laingsburg on Thursday, 14 August 2025 at about 02:30 when they noticed two suspicious looking persons. The members approached the men and proceeded with a search when they found 24 bankies of tik and a quarter mandrax tablet in their possession. Police confiscated the drugs and arrested the pair for their possession thereof.

All arrested will appear in court once charged.
