Ndlala Mall’s Grand Opening has secured an International R&B star Donell Jones for the 23rd of August 2025. Ndlala Mall CEO Thami Ndlala is excited to announce Donell Jones as the main attraction for the grand opening after its postponement last week, taking place at the Ndlala Arena situated at the Ndlala Mall on 23 August 2025.

Donell Jones is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer from Chicago, Illinois. He became best known for his second studio album ‘Where I Wanna Be’ in 1999, and its lead single, ‘U Know What’s Up’ (Featuring Lisa Lopes). The album received platinum certification by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA), and the song peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100; its follow up single, “Where I Wanna Be’ peaked within the top 40 on the chart. His third album, Life Goes On in 2002 reached number three on the Billboard 200.

‘You Know What’s Up‘ is no 7 on Billboard Hot 100 and 1.2 Million monthly listeners on Spotify. “It is an honour to have an artist of such a great calibre in the music industry to be the main performer at the opening,” says Ndlala.

The grand launch will be hosted at the state of the art Ndlala Mall a 550 seat tiered venue located within the mall precinct. The celebration will feature exclusive performances by International, national, and local artists, promising and unforgettable experience for all guests.

Donell Jones will be sharing a stage and supported by South Africa’s own Zonke Dikana and Vusi Nova who are both hit makers.  Zonke is a Multi-Platinum, Award Winning Singer, and Songwriter/Producer. Vusi Nova has become one of the most successful musicians in South Africa. His soulful ballads have earned him fans from all over the world and have made him one of the most recognizable names in the South African music industry. His talent for writing beautiful love songs has earned him numerous awards and accolades over the years.

Zonke Dikana has long been one of the most accomplished songwriters on the SA music scene. She has written and co-written hits for dance artist Winnie Khumalo, kwaito rapper Thebe, late R&B star TK and also worked with legends like Bongo Maffin and Oskido. Zonke has had a unique path to the top of the South African R&B heap.
