This July, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Springboks 1995 Rugby World Cup Victory, bringing packed premium front-row seat content made up of a mix of unforgettable moments and a live match to the public.
As part of commemorating this historic victory, SABC2 introduces the acclaimed five-part documentary series, Chasing the Sun, starting Sunday, 13 July 2025 at 19:30, offering unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to the Springboks’ 2019 Rugby World Cup journey in Japan.
Chasing the Sun chronicles how South Africa’s national rugby team prepared for and won the Webb Ellis Cup, uniting a nation in celebration. This intimate documentary goes beyond the game itself, revealing the personal stories, struggles, and triumphs of players who would ultimately lift the trophy.
