Today, 11 April marks three years since Anele Tembe died. Author and former drug addict Melinda Ferguson has released the book titled, When Love Kills – The Tragic Tail of AKA and Anele’
When Love Kills is the tale of hip hop star, Kiernan “AKA” Forbes whose life unravelled when he embarked on a relationship with 21-year-old Anele “Nelli” Tembe. “When she “fell” to her death from the 10th story of the Pepper Club in April 2021, after a long night of heated arguing, details would emerge that they’d been caught up in a whirlwind of toxic obsession, alleged substance abuse and violence,” Melinda reviews. “Less than 2 years later AKA was assassinated in what looked like a hit to avenge her death. This is their tragic story.”
Speaking on her book, Melinda says, “I have never worked harder on a book. I have never been more freaked out by a story,” she says. “I have never kept a secret like I have this one, but the news has just been leaked on social media ….So here it is from the fire horse’s mouth. My new book will hit the shelves next week …. it’s been a real journey to get this out. It nearly killed my own relationship. It’s a story that broke my heart.”
